Given its composition, which includes skin- friendly oils and waxes of vegetable origin, it forms a protective film that repels water while yet allowing the skin to breathe on the skin. Without allowing moisture to accumulate, this can shield the skin from aggravating factors and stop the external genital and anal area from becoming painful. Mineral oils and silicones are not present in Dr. Wolff's Vagisan protective ointment.
